Magic Tattoos

Tattooing Ezra was a real joy, his jokes slay me. I enjoyed talking to him about his spiritual connectedness, I found that we have a lot in common, especially in spirituality and compassion. I have never met someone that was so open hearted as he and his girlfriend Maiki are. I instantly felt connected to the both of them in a deep way, like meeting your relatives. It's rare to meet people that are not afraid of God, and can call the mystic nature, God, and not just the universe. It warms my heart to know that others think the same way I do, it proves that I am on the right path. And to remain grateful for the wisdom I have already received.  I am so glad that this happened, it was an honor to tattoo Ezra. I can't wait for future memories. Doing tattoos like this is what my life is about, when a tattoo has this much meaning, I not only become part of the tattoo but the tattoo becomes apart of me. I wish him nothing but luck for his future in this life and the next. Namaste.



Ezra sat like a champ,  and almost as still as possible ; )




This tattoo is a symbol of his favorite memory as a child. His father would take him and his brothers exploring and they would all put their hands into a circle and chant to take care of each other. The background was chosen by him to reflect his spirituality. The pattern is called the flower of life and is a sacred geometry pattern. It is a pattern that is described to show the duality of god and consciousness. This structure forms the basis for music, as the distances between the spheres is identical to the distances between the tones and the half tones in music. It is also identical to the cellular structure of the third embryonic division (The first cell divides into two cells, then to four cells then to eight). The flower of life holds a secret symbol created by drawing 13 circles out of the Flower of Life.
By doing this, one can discover the most important and sacred pattern in the universe. This is the source of all that exists; it's called the Fruit of Life. It contains 13 informational systems. Each one explains another aspect of reality. Thus these systems are able to give us access to everything ranging from the human body to the galaxies. In the first system, for example, it's possible to create any molecular structure and any living cellular structure that exists in the universe. In short every living creature.





Ezra- David Darnell is in the Denver local band Hearts in Space, he plays guitar and sings.  His band best described as Southwestern Garage Psychedelic Rock with beautiful harmonies. The band that it most closely resembles is the Brain Jonestown Massacre. Ezra is a popular figure in the Denver underground music scene.

This is my favorite song, and this is what it means to me. 

The harmonica tells you its a love story ;)

“There must be away to escape the casual, mundane and obligated life” I feel it’s a man and woman talking to each other, in first meetings, perhaps early in their pursuits. The Joker is the man, of misleading character, one that can make you smile; convincing liar. The thief is the woman, I think that she is free, and grateful for her freedom. I think Bob Dylan called her a thief to demonstrate that, as a pun, a caught criminal would really miss freedom. 

“There’s too much confusion,” I Can’t get no relief.

He’s lost his connectedness to God.

“Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth. None of them along the line know what any of it is worth”

Businessmen, government of the same, taxes, what ever- they reap the benifits of your harder life. your hard work is their wine, they break you physically down, so they plow your earth. 

“No reason to get excited,” the thief he kindly spoke.

The voice of reason. 

“There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.”

There are other’s that are free. 

“But you and I, we’ve been through that, and this is not our fate. So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late.”

Why lie to each other, playing games of hope or talk of futures. Enjoy what’s happen before it ends.

All the people that justified the jokers ways.

“while all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.”

All the women that he used and abused, all the ‘friends’ he used all that were pawns in his life.

Outside in the distance a wild cat did growl. Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

you can’t escape the inevitable path of the time you are in.

I think if you can understand that interpretation then you should listen to this song as well, I think it is a modern response to All Along The Watch Tower, perhaps a deeper look into the Joker's mind.

I am just a thief.

Doesn’t she look like me? It’s hard to love someone, and know you can’t do a good job at loving them. I guess maybe thats how love always feels. Perhaps even when you fail, you just continue the love. I love my puppy, I’m sorry she misses me so much. At least she has my family to love her during the times I’m away.

The Pirate Signal music video premiere for "The saga of dirty street kids"

Even though it was only Yonnas Abraham and Chez Sheree Strong at the Meadowlark for the primer of "The Saga of Dirty Street Kids" unfortunately they were a man short, D.J. Soup was unable to attend, however, they still rocked it. The crowd was captivated by Yonass's lyrics and energy, and Chez was not only hypnotic to watch she was the meat of the band, playing guitar, d.j., back up vocals and synthesizer for the Pirate Signal. The crowd was definitely into it. She is a multi talented musician, as well as ambidextrous. This was just a small sampling of pictures that I took as their photographer that night. The band has been around since 2000, and has recently added my best friend Chez. If you would like to know more about them you should check out their official website. There are also a lot of videos of them on youtube as well. I think they are a progressive music style of hip hop and rock. Their show is intimate and full of energy.
